When your boiler breaks on a Sunday in January, you do not want to be left waiting until Monday morning. You want someone to answer the phone, tell you they are on their way and fix the problem properly. That is exactly what South West Heating Services has been doing since 2019 and it is the standard we hold ourselves to every single day.
We are a regional team of 13 engineers covering the South West from Bristol to Penzance. We are not a one-man band that closes for holidays and we are not a faceless national that treats customers like a number. We are a business built on personal relationships, local knowledge and a simple commitment to showing up when we say we will.
Our services cover the full range of heating needs. We carry out emergency boiler repairs, annual boiler servicing, new boiler installations and ongoing maintenance through our maintenance plans. We operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year because heating emergencies can happen at any moment.
One of the things I am most proud of is the relationships our engineers build with the customers they serve. Because our team covers defined regional areas, customers often see the same engineer year after year. They know their name. They trust them. That level of continuity is rare in our industry and it is something we work hard to maintain. It is also, I believe, a significant part of why our customers keep coming back.
That reputation has been recognised externally too. In 2024, South West Heating Services was Runner-Up for the Total Excellence in Quality Award, run by Domestic & General, a national award based purely on customer feedback. Being recognised at that level, against businesses from across the country, is something the whole team should be proud of.
We are also a Tier 1 contractor, trusted by major insurance companies including HomeServe, AXA and Domestic & General. Meeting the service levels those organisations require is not straightforward. It demands consistency, professionalism and a genuine commitment to quality on every job. The fact that we have built and maintained those relationships is a reflection of what our engineers deliver on the ground every day.
The energy landscape is changing and South West Heating Services is changing with it. The push towards low-carbon heating is gathering pace and air source heat pumps are an increasingly important part of the conversation. Government schemes like the Warm Homes Plan and the Boiler Upgrade Scheme are driving real demand for heat pump installations and we are investing in the skills and certifications our engineers need to deliver those technologies to the same standard our customers expect from everything else we do.
Being part of the EARNZ group has strengthened our position considerably. The support that comes with being part of a listed group, the connections to other regional businesses with complementary expertise and the shared focus on the energy efficiency agenda all mean we are better placed than ever to meet the evolving needs of our clients. We work alongside businesses across the group who share our values and that collaboration makes all of us stronger.
At its heart, South West Heating Services is a business built on trust. Trust that we will answer the phone. Trust that we will turn up. Trust that we will do the job properly. That has been true since we started in 2019 and it will remain true as we continue to grow.
