Looking back on 2025, I feel proud of the way our teams have supported households and clients across the region with consistent, dependable heating services. The work we do plays an important role in creating safe and comfortable homes and the commitment shown by our engineers and office teams has shaped the strong results we delivered this year.
Heating services play a critical role in creating safe and comfortable homes. Whether we are installing new systems, carrying out maintenance or responding to unexpected issues, we know that residents and clients rely on us to provide solutions that are both technically sound and considerate of the challenges they face. This responsibility guides every aspect of our work. Our engineers understand that a well completed job can make a meaningful difference to the wellbeing of the households we serve and this motivates them to maintain high standards at all times.
A key part of our role is ensuring systems remain compliant with the regulations that protect both safety and performance. The requirements placed on housing providers and commercial clients continue to evolve and many organisations rely on us to help them navigate these changes. Throughout 2025 we invested time in reinforcing our understanding of compliance standards and reviewing our internal procedures. This focus helped us maintain consistent quality across planned and reactive work and strengthened the trust our clients place in us.
Our engineers are at the heart of everything we do. Their technical skill, attention to detail and commitment to doing things properly form the foundation of our service. Over the past year we continued to invest in training, equipment and support to ensure they have what they need to work safely and efficiently. These investments build confidence within our teams and give our clients reassurance that their properties are in capable hands. I am proud of the professionalism and care our engineers show on every job, and I know our clients value the approachable and respectful way they work.
The nature of heating services requires us to respond quickly when issues arise. Our ability to prioritise urgent work and manage planned programmes alongside reactive demand has been important to our performance. In 2025 we reviewed our scheduling processes and introduced improvements to help us allocate jobs more effectively. These changes supported quicker response times and better communication with clients. While there is always more we can refine, these improvements have already had a positive impact on the experience of both residents and clients.
Being part of the EARNZ group has strengthened our position and created opportunities to share knowledge with other subsidiaries. The emphasis placed on regional capability and strong local delivery aligns closely with our own values. Through the Group we have had the opportunity to engage more closely with A&D Carbon Solutions and Cosgrove & Drew. These exchanges have been valuable, not because our services are identical, but because we share a similar commitment to quality, safety and long term reliability. Learning from one another helps us improve the way we operate and broadens our understanding of how different parts of the retrofit and energy services sector fit together.
Working within a group of regional businesses also gives us a clearer view of how market conditions are shifting. The demand for well maintained heating systems remains strong and clients continue to look for partners who can provide dependable support. At the same time, there is increasing interest in how heating services connect with broader energy improvements. While our core role remains focused on heating installation and maintenance, we are aware of the opportunities that may emerge as homes and buildings transition to more energy efficient solutions. Our aim is to approach these opportunities in a practical and measured way, ensuring we are prepared without losing focus on the services we deliver today.
One of the achievements I am most proud of this year is the strength of our client relationships. Many of the organisations we support have worked with us for a long time and they continue to choose SWHS because of the consistency we bring to each project. Whether we are working with a local authority, a housing provider or a commercial client, our goal is the same. We want to provide a reliable service that makes their day easier, not harder. This means turning up on time, doing the job properly and communicating clearly. These fundamentals matter and they remain central to our identity as a business.
Looking ahead to 2026, we see strong demand for dependable heating services and continued opportunities to support organisations seeking trusted partners. Our focus will remain on safety, quality and customer care. We plan to continue investing in our teams and the systems that help us work efficiently. We also expect to build further on the partnerships we formed this year and explore opportunities to support clients with broader energy improvements where appropriate. The sector continues to evolve and we want to ensure we are prepared to respond to the needs of our clients as these changes take shape.
I also want to take a moment to recognise the dedication of our staff. The work we do is not always easy. It requires a high level of technical skill, a calm approach in challenging situations and a strong commitment to doing things the right way. Our engineers, supervisors and office teams have shown all these qualities consistently throughout 2025. Their hard work is the main reason we continue to deliver strong results and maintain the confidence of our clients. I am grateful for everything they contribute to the business and I look forward to working alongside them in the year ahead.
As we move into 2026, I feel confident in the foundations we have built and the direction we are taking. We remain committed to providing safe, compliant and reliable heating services across the South West and to supporting our clients with a professional service they can rely on. With a strong team, a clear focus and the support of the EARNZ group, we are well positioned for the year ahead.
